CO2Dry, FeyeCon and VNK have successfully developed herb flavour powders from waste materials on the base of green CO2 technology. Agricultural processing, including drying operations, always results in residue materials that cannot be sold. These may contribute for a substantial volume and, with that, for a substantial amount of waste of energy and land resources, and financial cost. The team developed with help with a VIDA grant, herb oil powders for nutraceutical applications on the base of upscaled equipment. Similarly, other sources and applications, where low temperature and oxygen-free operation are paramount for the preservation of colour, flavour and ingredient integrity, can now follow with short time to market.
